The Two Realms of the Transpersonal and Existential/personal inform each other in order to accelerate An Evolving Consciousness in a Human Being and form a cooperative merger for the good of self, other and the collective consciousness of all humans.
The personal ego/mind must ultimately subordinate itself to Awareness, which informs the existential self as to how one becomes the best version of oneself in the world of form and function. And yet it is crucial to come to understand on the deepest levels of our Being that to simply be the best version of ourselves in the world without accessing our true essential Transpersonal nature is the equivalent to the well worn concept of rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
It is a conventional belief that the Transpersonal and Personal realms are separate and to experience the Transpersonal, is to remove ourselves from our everyday world of form. While a certain distancing perspective may be necessary in order to access the stillness and peace of our true essence, the everyday realm of the senses and the form and function aspects of life are never truly removed or distant, given, were we not to breath or think or feel at all, we would not exist in order to access our essential infinite and eternal source.
The two realms are not of equal weight. The transpersonal, despite its empty characteristics and ethereal nature, contains the full weight of all existence in its inherent potential.
My personal experience, instincts, intuition and intellectual thought process, confirmed by the wisdom of others, is that my two realms approach is valid and a useful and empowering way of conceptualizing the full spectrum of consciousness.
We learn to operate with all deliberate speed, with pace and more at peace, both in action externally but with a calm stillness internally. This apparent paradox in a world of paradoxes, and the ability to understand and function with paradoxes, not confused by them, is an artful way to live.
For men and women, access to both masculine and feminine energies are an important factor in knowing when to muscle our way and softly manage the situations we confront in our lifetimes. Yin without yang and yang without yin are impotent attempts to function in life but too much of either inhibits affective functioning in the world as well. This too has elements of paradox, even on a biological and psychological level.
The schema of the Formula is designed to be both thought provoking and visual, using different parts of the brain, the left hemisphere fundamentally linear and logical and the right brain, more non-linear, creative and utilizing the imagination. This accelerated learning and growth along various developmental lines.
The dual paths, which we must remember ultimately converge into a single path, and beyond that, a non-dual unitive whole, are neither strictly linear or non-linear, but offer elements of both.
We humans have multiple intelligences. We are great at some things, mediocre at others and suck at some. One of our tasks within the framework of the formulas is to know our strengths and weaknesses well and upgrade whenever and wherever possible. This is why the self-diagnosis element in the beginning and all along the journey is crucial. You are the only one who has experienced yourself every second of your life so you are the one and only expert on you.
The partnership of coach and client is in part, for the client to teach the coach who you are now, and you work together to either right the ship or tighten the screws, whatever metaphor applies.
It is therefore logical and crucial that a commitment to honesty about who you are, what you’ve done, and where you’ve been guides the process. It is the engine that drives you toward who you want to be now, and what are the empowering choices that it makes sense to make.
Part of the process is to understand the masks we wear, the roles we take on, the “act” we put on, to reassure ourselves, define ourselves, or allow others to define us by. These can be useful and even necessary at times, but they are not who we are at our core.
They can help us function and inter-relate in the social sphere, but are too often compensatory defenses against the risky and often discouraged authenticity and spontaneity that fail to conform to the expectations or unwritten rules of engagement in whatever cultures we came from or currently find ourselves in.
Bottom line, know yourself, check yourself when appropriate, and fire on all cylinders when in alignment with the Good, the True and the Beautiful, as the profound thinker Ken Wilber often refers to.
And yet, as the paradoxical nature of life keeps coming at us, adversity is a driver of change and development, both from inside our being and from outside forces. We all know the expression no pain no gain. Cliches don’t exist for nothing. They generally show up again and again, by definition, because there is so much truth and wisdom in them.
Research into human nature in the hard sciences and social sciences, suggest with great confidence at this point, that hardship, loss, tragedy, defeat, failure, illness, heartbreak and all the rest are apart of life we all fear and do our best to avoid but result in more growth, maturity, courage, and over-all evolutionary development and the smooth, easy and enjoyable aspects of life.
Test the premise in your own life and those you know well or the endless accounts of what people over-come. It’s painful and even terrible at times, but remarkable for those who face up to it.
The phenomenon of attaining Enlightenment, which really is not an attainment but a realization of our natural essence and the end product so to speak of the Transpersonal realm is more often that not, the result of the suffering we humans must endure along with the wondrous aspects of this great adventure called life.
So, learn your story, tell your story and then work the Formula and drop the story in favor of something more powerful, interesting and fulfilling – live in the now – for the now- and don’t look back, other than to honor the now that is going, going gone.
It’s not a secret any more. The past is a series of moment-by-moment now’s and the future is a projection of now’s to come, based in large part on the now’s that are gone and of limited relevance because we outgrow every now with each and every new now.
Let’s explore the concept of time for a moment, given we seem to live with the demands of time and the pressures it often imposes on us in today’s modern fast-paced societies.
So, whether it is life in general or specific to the Formula, it is normal to ask ourselves if we are on pace with the hoped for learning curve. Time will tell as only time does but it’s less about time and more about living the process, fully engaged in the now. There is nothing wrong with having goals as to when we accomplish what we strive for, but the more we are fully engaged and non-attached to a time frame or even the outcomes, my experience is things happen faster or at least we don’t feel so pressured or that time is dragging.
Time is of this world of form, of the personal existential journey, but doesn’t even exist in the Transpersonal realm of what we might call experience. Resting in the Source, it just is. There is no reaching for, leaning into or striving. Here comes the paradox once again.
The formula as applied to the existential. Personal realm is all about readiness, preparation and execution, but if all roads lead to Rome, another useful cliché’, then all our efforts dissolve into the Oneness and even Emptiness of it all, but re-manifests in a world that we have managed to manage better and arrived at a now that is rich in fulfillment because we choice to honor and fulfill the best in us as to the human realm. The being realm, once established, takes care of itself, because it needs nor requires anything. There is no personal self as essence. It’s just an indescribable, undifferentiated essence.
This is the ultimate peace and stillness that witnesses the manifest world we inhabit, each and every one of us, from within our own bodies, until the time that we leave these bodies and the mystery unfolds anew, but no longer identifies as even having a body.
It is as if, and perhaps even literally an adventurous dream that comes to an end in what seems to be in a location that disappears and shows up again who knows where or when. It’s actually pretty cool when you think about it.
Why it’s set up the way it is only the source knows, if knowing is even a way to describe it, for the ultimate mystery that Shakespeare referred to as life just keeps showing up in these two miraculous realms and we, when experiencing it as human beings, one part human, vastly the larger part Being, are the gift.
If the Formula is worth anything, it heightens our Awareness that life is worth everything because it is everything. If we want more out of life, than go get more.
If we want Enlightenment, then turn inward, or as has been called the backward step, and see that it’s all perfect, in the form and the formless. Both realms complement each other in the most extraordinary way. It is the Creative Intelligence of the Universe and its pure Genius.
Ethical actions, a precise moral compass, high standard and values are to be considered in all our choices. It is a purification of the soul that becomes a magnet to higher consciousness, and conversely, the more elevated one’s consciousness, the more our ways in the world are purified.
A place between the fully established Awakened state and the “normative” existential/personal world, is when may have had awakening moments of one kind or another, or hard won development resulting in a better version of ourselves, which the Formula is one means of attaining, which is a damn good half-way house between the two realms we have been speaking about, that is experienced as more life satisfaction, service to others, kindness and caring, less superficiality in all modes of life, and may very well be a stepping stone to a fully established, embedded wakefulness, with the ripening of a more mature, less-self-centered personal self.
A more evolved, developed self, no longer over-burdened by past conditioning and on-going neurotic ego dominated toxicity, can provide a lifestyle and approach to life that is conducive to a full-blown awakening, which in turn further promotes a healthy and productive way of living in the material world, in the same body.

Therapy or a psychologically expert life coach can help accelerate the process of discovering and confronting the shadow material.
Aloneness, loneliness and isolation can seem cruel but are great fertile ground for coming to grips with our shadows.
